ABOUT THE DESIGN

Bel began working at the park as a volunteer applying mosaic to the white “ribbon” that divides the sections of the Memory Wall along the back of the park. It was soon apparent to Dan Philips that Bel’s skills should be showcased in a large panel.

Bel said this about her panel “Nature plays a large part in our lives, yet we don’t seem to see it. We are most likely curled up in a fetal position worrying about ourselves.”

Look carefully at the panel and you’ll see beautiful vignettes among the large flowers surrounding the fetal image in the center.

Bel has had help and support from her family as she works on the panel, husband Abel, daughter Desdamona (Dessie), and son Isiah.
